Cherie started her journey of dance at the age of 3, where she began with June Gapps and there-after joined K & L Byrnes dance Academy. It was apparent that at a young age, dancing was going to be a very big part of her life.

Cherie put her dream of owning her own studio into reality in 1998, and was passionate about providing quality training to young ambitious dancers. Cherie studied all facets of dance and passed all her teaching qualification certificates gaining honours with distinction and has completed her teaching diploma’s with The Royal Academy of Dancing (R.A.D), and The Australasian Dance Association (A.D.A) formally known as (F.A.T.D) as well as being a Registered Ready Set Dance/Ready Set Ballet teacher. 

At an early age Cherie had regular employment performing at various shopping centres, theme parks and club shows, as well as modelling for Grace bros and DJ’s, she has successfully competed in interstate and international eisteddfods. Some of Cherie’s highlights within the entertainment industry has been dancing and studying with some of Australia’s renowed professionals such as Kelly Abbey, Jason Coleman, Matt Lee and Ramon Doringo.

 

Cherie founded KC DANCE COMPANY 30 years ago, initially located in Moorebank, Sydney. She has trained many elite-level dancers who have gone on to gain acceptance into Brent Street, the Village Performing Arts (just to name a few) and work professionally as successful dancers and performers in the industry. After 24 years in Sydney, she brought KC DANCE CO to the South Coast, where she has maintained and introduced an incredibly high Sydney-standard of dance to South Nowra & St. George’s Basin.

She also involved herself with the Education Department Primary schools and choreographed many outstanding performances for Wakakirri and south western Sydney dance festivals.

 

Cherie’s innovative choreography has gone on to win numerous awards at competitions, she has dedicated her life to teach dance, she inspires dancers of all ages and believes there is no better way to express yourself than through dance. Cherie’s unique and amazing talent is admired by all in the studio and she is very much loved and respected by all who have the pleasure to know her.
